Founded in the fall of 2005 by Sue Jennings, the Big Muddy Fiddle Club meets once a month and is open to anyone interested in fiddling and/or fiddle tunes. All skill levels are welcome. After club business, an hour is loosely devoted to teaching tunes, learning about techniques, tune history and any thing else fiddle-tune related. Afterwards, club members play tunes, jam and socialize. Folks playing other string band or old-timey instruments are invited to join in the jam.
Club Sponsored Workshops
Gail Heil Workshop - 2006
Debby Greenblatt Workshop - 2006
Fiddler Nelson Workshop - 2007
Membership is $10/year. You don't have to be a member to attend meetings but it is encouraged. Membership dues serve as a commitment to the Big Muddy Fiddle Club of Omaha and helps promote fiddling in the area. Dues are used to sponsor workshops/concerts, picnics and other events.
